Vision
True vision expresses what Alice Bailey calls “the good, the beautiful and the true”. This is also a source of disease, she says, which “is but a distorted reflection of divine possibilities.” So a realistic vision for our world would be based on acceptance of the dis-ease—the inharmony—of the present times as, in fact, a positive sign of humanity’s striving for the good, the beautiful and the true. When this friction between the vision and its manifestation is seen as the spur that mobilizes aspiration for something higher and finer, conflict will be understood to be the inevitable necessary catalyst to the attaining of the vision.
We are also told in the writings of Alice Bailey that “that which is not existent somewhere within our apparently complex planetary system cannot be imagined.” If this statement is inverted, we realize that all that we can imagine—can envision—must already exist on some level. And this assurance underscores the profound import of the fourth stanza of the Great Invocation: “From the centre which we call the race of men let the Plan of Love and Light work out….” Our—Humanity’s—task as the planetary throat or creative center is to bring the vision into manifestation on the outer planes of life. And for this we need to draw upon every bit of the intelligence and creativity of which our collective humanness is capable.
We can all say: my vision is for a world at peace or for right human relations, and so on. And it should be if we claim to be people of goodwill. But the grounding of the vision begins with the realization of personal responsibility, personal accountability, humility, and an abiding conviction of the Christ principle—within our heart and within all human beings, whether deeply dormant or awakening or shining brilliantly as a beacon upon the way for others.
The hope and reassurance of the present times is the growing registration by the group of world servers of humanity’s inter-relationship, among all human beings and with all the kingdoms that share our planet. May this group awareness serve increasingly as a vision to guide humanity’s choices in the coming cycle.
